Exhibit: Cabinet of Curiosities

"Cabinet of Curiosities" in 1:12 scale exhibited at the 2013 Good Sam Show by Nancy Wantiez, Hayward, CA. "Fellow miniaturist Polly Morris suggested the scene. And, I had seen cabinets of curiosities in Europe," Nancy says. "The figure is Lord Richards, a former explorer and collector. Interested in the natural world, Lord Richards has collected examples from around the world and brought the items home from his adventures. There are also birds, butterflies, insects, coral, a mouse skull, etc."
The room box is 23" wide, 4" deep, and 12" high. The box and framing of most items was done by Nancy, except for the two seashell pictures in the middle." Lighting designer Moonyeen Moller did the excellent lighting in the room box. Photos courtesy of Connie Sauve, Exhibit Chairman. Click on photos to enlarge.
